Flint Hill's Upper School will present the comedy play, "Dearly Departed," on April 30 and May 1. The plot centers on the beleaguered Turpin family, who prove that living and dying in the backwoods of the South are seldom tidy and often hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father's funeral, long-standing family problems keep overshadowing the solemn occasion. Amidst the chaos, the family turns for comfort to their friends and neighbors, an eccentric group of misfits, who manage to somehow help the Turpins through their hour of need.
The cast is led by seniors: Mary Pilger, Rob Kelly, and Aliya Robbins. Rounding out the list of actors are: Kathy Norris, Adam Clark, Kara Emery, Kate Smith-Morse, Jack Dimond, Sean Clark, Will Lacy, Blair Bowers, Claire Holman, Clayton Childs, and Andrew Kulak. The director is Carlo Grossman. The stage managers are Dana Vetter and Julia Korzeniewski.
The performances will be at the Olson Theater on Flint Hill School's east campus. The address is 10411 Academic Drive, Oakton. The show times are 7:30 p.m. both evenings. Admission is by suggested donation.
