H. Hollister Cantus of Reston, founder and CEO of The ILEX Group and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and former associate administrator of NASA, has been appointed to the Virginia Commission on Base Retention, which will spearhead of the state's efforts to protect its military installations during the upcoming round of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) scheduled for 2005.
Melanie Yaegar, 30, is training for the 20th annual Make-A-Wish Sea Colony Triathlon, scheduled for Sept. 20 in Bethany Beach, Del. The Make-A-Wish-Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic hosts the special event to help fulfill the wishes of area children fighting life-threatening medical conditions. This is Yaegar’s second time competing in the race.
