Jason T. Wolfe, PE, has obtained licensure as a Professional Engineer in Virginia. A project engineer for Burgess & Niple’s Bridge and Structural Department in Chantilly, Wolfe is skilled in bridge design and inspection for the Virginia Department of Transportation and other clients. He has performed bridge inspections throughout the U.S. Wolfe joined Burgess & Niple in 2000.

UNITECH (Universal Systems & Technology, Inc.) of Centreville announced the appointment of Rear Adm. Paul J. Pluta, U.S. Coast Guard (retired), to the position of senior vice president for homeland security.

Adm. Pluta brings more than 36 years of distinguished Coast Guard experience. In his new role, he will manage the port security, emergency response offerings, and day-to-day operations of the Homeland Security division of the firm. In addition, he is charged with programmatic plans for homeland security activities for both domestic and international markets.

Patton Harris Rust & Associates of Chantilly announced the hiring of Thomas Crawley, E.I.T., project engineer, for its office in Woodbridge. A 2003 graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., with a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering, Crawley recently completed several internships with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that included Roadway Design, Bridge Design, Construction Unit Field Inspection and Maintenance Engineering.
