<sh>Crash Claims Woman's Life
<bt>A 30-year-old Pennsylvania woman was killed Tuesday night in a car crash at Route 28 and Westfields Boulevard in Chantilly. Fairfax County police say Purvi Shah was driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima sedan north on Route 28, around 11:15 p.m., when she tried to turn left onto Westfields Boulevard after her traffic light had turned red.
Police say she pulled into the path of an oncoming 2000 Nissan Sentra sedan driven by Kwame Dankyi, 43, of Centreville, southbound on Route 28, and her car was struck. Shah, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dankyi, who also wore a seatbelt, was treated at Prince William Hospital for minor injuries and released. According to police, neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the accident.

<sh>Supervisors OK Kustom Kastles
<bt>The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors last Monday approved a rezoning that paves the way for construction of five new houses — a development called Kustom Kastles — next to the Fair Lakes Chase subdivision. These single-family, detached homes will be built near the intersection of Veronica Road and Fenbrook Drive
First, though, the developer needed the county's permission to have 2.6 acres rezoned from their current designation of one home per acre to two homes per acre in a cluster arrangement. And on Monday, the supervisors agreed.
The houses will constitute an infill development within an already-existing residential area and will be incorporated into the Fair Lakes Chase homeowners association. The developer will make a contribution to Rocky Run Middle School because that's the school the new community's residents will attend. In addition, Kustom Kastles has proffered a $4,000 donation to the county Park Authority.
