The Loudoun County Chapter Outreach Committee of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) disbursed proceeds from the Loudoun County 10K Race no longer administered by the chapter to three local charities. NVBIA has raised over $200,000 for local charities over the last 15 years. The three charities to benefit from the remaining $10,000 were ECHO (Every Citizen Has Opportunities), Leesburg Adult Day Care Center and Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing. The race was taken over by the YMCA Loudoun County Chapter.
Loudoun County landlords and property managers are invited to attend "Housing Choice Vouchers 101: Everything You Need to Know About Vouchers," a seminar sponsored by Loudoun County Housing Services.
The program is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Office of Housing Services, 102 Heritage Way, N.E., Suite 103 in Leesburg. Linda Sonnhalter was recognized for producing the most resale revenue units and the most listings sold. Vanessa Jones generated the most listings.
Pinnacle Design & Consulting based in Fairfax has been hired by builder Centex Homes to design a new floorplan for Loudoun County's new group living facility at Brambleton in Ashburn. The plan will accommodate the disabled, including a chairlift platform to allow access to the second floor. When completed, the home will provide housing for the county's physically and mentally handicapped.
