A Sterling man is facing a possible 20 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to sexually assaulting a mentally handicapped Chantilly woman. He is Christian Flores, 23, of 1030 South Hoga Road.
The incident occurred, June 24, in the home where the 26-year-old woman — who has severe mental retardation — is cared for by a foster family. Flores was an acquaintance of the older son's and was visiting the home.
Following an investigation, on July 7, Fairfax County police charged Flores with animate-object sexual penetration. The charge was amended to the lesser offense of aggravated sexual battery, Sept. 2 in General District Court, and Flores waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
The grand jury indicted him Sept. 15, and he pleaded guilty, Tuesday morning, in Circuit Court. He's now being held without bond in the Adult Detention Center until his sentencing on Dec. 19.
