Constance Babock Thornbury, 81, died on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at her home in Reston.
Thornbury was a former resident of Man, W. Va. and Titusville, Fla. She was born on Feb. 16, 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late James N. and Theresa C. Babock.
Thornbury was married for 33 years to the late John Grant Thornbury of Man, W. Va. She was retired after 22 years as a human resource manager with the Amherst Coal Co. of Lundale, W. Va. She attended First Missionary Baptist Church of Man, W. Va. and was a member of the Logan County Republican Womens Club and the Logan County Republican Executive Committee.
Thornbury is survived by daughters, Theresa McDonald (Dan) of Titusville, Fla. and Bertha Hoskins (James) of Reston; grandsons, John C. McDonald (Christine) of Metheun, Mass. and Alexander Hoskins of Reston; a sister, Betty Helmer of W. Hempstead, N.Y.; nephews, James Helmer of Ft. Worth, Texas and Bruce Babcock of Laurel, N.J.; and a grandniece, Sarah Helmer of Ft. Worth, Texas.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Gloria Babcock of New Jersey.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30 at the Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, Va. Interment will take place Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, W. Va.
