CHADD Honors Adams
<bt>CHADD, the nation’s leading advocacy organization serving children and adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), recognized the efforts of a local volunteer, Catherine Adams of Northern Virginia, at its 15th annual conference held in Denver, Colo. earlier this month.
The Volunteer Leadership Award was presented to Adams for making a difference in her community through her involvement with CHADD at the local level.
Adams, the coordinator of the Northern Virginia Chapter of CHADD, was described as committed and dedicated in building her chapter. She is credited with providing strong leadership on legislative issues and successfully promoting an ongoing partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools. She also championed programs that train and recognize educators who help and support students with AD/HD.
Each year, CHADD, with 20,000 members and 232 chapters in 44 states, recognizes individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions in broadening awareness of AD/HD.
