The unidentified body of an Asian male was found in the wooded area on the 11300 block of Falls Road at approximately 11 a.m. on Nov. 12.
The man was found hanging from a tree in the wooded area across Falls Road from the Potomac Community Center, said Montgomery County Police Spokesperson Derick Baliles. “The scene was consistent with a suicide,” Baliles said.
He said that there were no signs of foul play or the involvement of anyone else in the incident.
Montgomery County Police policy states that they will not discuss the presence or absence of a suicide note. “It’s part of the privacy of the victim’s family,” Baliles said.
The man was not identified at the scene. “He had no identification papers on him,” Baliles said.
The body has been sent to the state medical examiners office for a full autopsy. Police will compare information gained from the autopsy with missing persons reports.
“A normal part of the investigation is checking missing persons reports,” Baliles said.
“[The medical examiner] will take fingerprints, dental records and look for broken bones, scars or tattoos, anything that will help to confirm the identity,” Baliles said.
