Marine Corps Capt. William A. Scheetz Jr., a 1990 graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary School, recently returned from an eight-month deployment embarked onboard the USS Iwo Jima, while assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C. Scheetz was one of more than 4,000 Atlantic Fleet Sailors and Marines who were deployed aboard the ships of the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group.
Marine Corps Reserve Pfc. Rikki A. Bryant, son of Robyn J. and Lawrence I. Bryant of Burke, recently graduated from the Light Armored Vehicle Repairman Course. During the course at Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Bryant received instruction on trouble-shooting, repair and inspection of light armored vehicles. Bryant is a 2002 graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary High School and joined the Marine Corps Reserve in December 2002.
