<sh>Occoquan Hosts ‘Town Warming’
<bt>Visitors can experience Occoquan's new historic look on Saturday, Nov. 1. Shops and galleries will celebrate the town's new look by hosting a "Town Warming," which will include artist demonstrations, refreshments, sales, Virginia food sampling, Virginia wine tastings and more. See how each of Occoquan's 100 specialty shops is celebrating. Events will take place 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The Historic Town of Occoquan is located just off I-95 at Exit 160. <sh>Mott Center Receives Grant Money
<bt>The U.S. Department of Education presented the Fairfax County Public Library Foundation Inc. with $333,747 in grant money to establish three new Computer Clubhouses. One of the clubhouses will be at the Mott Community Center in Fairfax, and the remaining two will be at the James Lee Community Center in Falls Church and the Reston Teen Center.
The Library Foundation will keep approximately $25,000 of the grant money to cover administrative costs.
The Fairfax County Department of Community and Recreation Services will operate the three new centers as well as the existing three centers at Gum Springs Community Center in Alexandria, Bailey’s Community Center in Falls Church, and the Willston Multicultural Center in the Seven Corners.
