Navy Lt. Eric L. McMullen, son of Particia E. McMullen of Springfield, was recently designated a Naval Flight Officer while serving with Training Squadron 86, Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fla. McMullen is a 1990 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science And Technology of Alexandria and joined the Navy in October 1996. He is a 1996 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University.
Navy Lt. j. g. Greg R. Adams, son of Jane W. and William F. Adams of Springfield, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the Arabian Gulf while assigned to the guided missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay, homeported in San Diego, Calif. Adams was one of more than 8,000 Pacific Fleet Sailors and Marines aboard the ships of the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Battlegroup. His ship launched dozens of Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Adams is a 1995 graduate of R. E. Lee High School and joined the Navy in May 1999. He is a 1999 graduate of U.S. Naval Academy, Md., with a BS degree.
Army Pfc. Jonathan R. Delauter has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Delauter is the son of Richard Delauter of Golden Iris Court in Springfield, and Anita Delauter of McLennan Oak, San Antonio, Texas. In 2002, the soldier graduated from West Springfield High School.
