HATFIELD AND KEEL WED
Hatfield and Keel Wed
A summer wedding united Victoria Hatfield and Anthony Keel at 4 p.m., June 22, 2002, in Vail, Colo. The ceremony, reception and dinner dance took place at Lazy-J ranch in Wolcott, Colo., under an azure sky with the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. The theme of nature not only dominated the setting and ceremony, but was carried through all the décor with an abundance of wildflowers.
The bride’s father, Donald Hatfield, escorted the bride and the groom’s mother, Ilse Keel, escorted Anthony to the wedding arch.
Dave Schuster, a friend of both, who was present when they first met on a whitewater rafting trip on the Colorado River, and a year later was present when Anthony proposed to Victoria on another such trip, told this very moving story. He then presented them with a bottle of Colorado River water and a package of sand from “Proposal Beach” (as it is now known). After the presentation, Dave pronounced them man and wife.
Anthony was a resident of Potomac, graduated from Georgetown Prep High School and Bowdoin College in Maine. Victoria resided in Richfield, Minn., and after her formal schooling there and in Oregon, lived in Vail. They now reside in Boston, Mass.
