<cal2>Carol Zeitlin, member of the Springfield Art Guild and Sumi-e Society, is now accepting registration for spring art classes. Sessions of “Art Lessons for Youths 8-years and Up” begin March 20, 4:30-5:45 p.m. or March 29, 9:15-10:30 a.m. and continue for 8-10 weeks. “Art Workshop for Teens and Adults” begins March 29, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and continues for eight weeks. “Chinese Brush Painting (Sumi-e) for Teens and Adults” begins Saturday, March 29, 11 a.m.- 12:15 p.m. and continues for eight weeks. <cal2>Interstate Worldwide Relocation is offering a free class to demonstrate proper packing techniques and moving-industry secrets. <cal2>Refuse to Be a Victim crime-prevention program. This National Rifle Association program promotes awareness and prevention of criminal confrontations. The co-ed seminar is three to four hours long, open to the public and costs $10. Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, 8:30 a.m., at the National Rifle Association Headquarters, 11250 Waples Mill Road in Fairfax. <cal1>Seniors

<cal2>Mature Operator's Driver Improvement Program (MOPDIP). This eight-hour class for Virginia residents 55 and older covers safe-driving information. The course is sanctioned by the American Automobile Association (AAA) and is presented by certified Fairfax County Auxiliary Police officers. On completion of this course, drivers are eligible for the Virginia state mandated insurance premium reduction (check with individual insurance carriers for the amount). The classes take place the second Saturday of each month. The next MOPDIP class will meet at the Franconia District Station located at 6121 Franconia Road, on Saturday, April 10, from

<cal2>Greenspring Village’s “English As a Second Language” (ESL) program provides instruction to assist employees who want to improve their language skills. ESL classes meet twice a week. Volunteers who wish to enroll are asked to pay a $20 registration fee to be refunded at the completion of the course. Follow-up ESL courses for students who wish to continue are now in the planning stage. Greenspring Village, developed and managed by Erickson Retirement Communities, is headquartered in Catonsville, Md. <cal2>The Burke Toastmasters Club is sponsoring an eight-week Speechcraft program beginning Monday, March 3. This program is designed to help participants to communicate more effectively with employers, associates, subordinates and customers. This program is open to the public. The fee is $50 and includes six months of Toastmaster membership. Space is limited to 15 people. Reservations will be taken on a first come-first served basis. <cal2>Lt. John Henderson teaches the City of Fairfax Fire Extinguisher Training program in Room 8 at the John C. Wood Municipal Complex, 3730 Old Lee Highway in Fairfax.
