<lst>Barbara Howlin of Springfield recently appeared as an ensemble cast member in Mary Washington College’s production of “The Laramie Project.” The play consists of interviews conducted with the people of Laramie, Wyo., after the 1998 murder of gay college student, Matthew Shepard. Howlin, a theater major, is a 1999 graduate of Lake Braddock High School.

The following students from Springfield were on the dean's list at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.: M. Burgess and Stacey L. Keller. To achieve this list, freshmen must earn a 3.25 and upperclassmen a 3.50 grade point average.

Caithlin McInnes Gorman, a senior at Bishop Ireton High School, has accepted early decision to American University as a member of the class of 2007. Gorman is a resident of Springfield.

Patrick L. Tynan of Springfield was awarded his degree in December 2002 from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis.

Andrew Benjamin Baskin of Springfield achieved the dean's list at the College of William and Mary for the fall of 2002. She maintained a 3.6 quality point average.

The College of William and Mary has named Connie Ran Xu of Springfield to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester. To qualify for the list, a student must maintain a 3.6 quality point average.

Darcy Leanne Newsome of Springfield attained the dean's list of the College of William and Mary for the fall 2002 semester. Students on the list must maintain a 3.6 quality point average.

Jennifer Kate Campany of Springfield achieved the dean's list at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg for fall 2002. Adams maintained a 3.6 quality point average.
