Take a hike! A 10-mile hike on the Pohick and South Run Valley Stream Park trails from the I-95 and Rolling Road area in Springfield to Burke Lake. This is a joint hike with the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and Sierra Club. Bring lunch and water. Hike starts at 10 a.m., rain or shine. Leave pets at home. A car shuttle will be needed. This program of George Mason University's Department of Art and Visual Technology has been ferrying arts enthusiasts from our area to New York City several times each academic year. Groups meet on George Mason University's Fairfax campus at the Finley Building parking lot. Parking is free for ARTSBUS participants in faculty/staff Lot H, across from the Finley Building. Buses leave Fairfax promptly at 6 a.m. Daytrip buses depart from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York at 7 p.m., and return to George Mason by midnight. Daytrip: $45-students, $60-non students.
