Stacia Marie Allen of Herndon died Feb. 26, at Reston Hospital. She was 70.
Allen was born on Dec. 17, 1932, in Madisonville, Ky., to Frank and Viola Brown. She is survived by husband Edgar Lee Allen; children, William Edgar Allen of Ashburn and Leigh Stacia Allen Hughes of Bristow ; daughter-in-law Vanessa W. Allen; son-in-law Edward Hughes; grandson William Edgar Allen II of Potomac Falls and a host of other relatives and friends.
Allen was a founding member of the Reston-Herndon National Council of Negro Women. She served as vice president of the Reston Chapter of Jack and Jill Inc. and was a member of the Reston Chapter of Links Inc., where she was instrumental in organizing several college tours for the Services to Youth Facet. She attended religious services at Lomax A.M.E. Zion Church of Arlington.
Funeral services and a wake were held at A.M.E. Zion Church in Arlington on March 3. Interment was at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon.
