The Reston Triathlon is seeking volunteers to help with the event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7. Volunteers are need for Saturday set-up on Sept. 6 including the swim course, transition areas at Lake Audubon boat ramp and South Lakes High School and also for packet pickup. On Sunday, race day, volunteers are needed for the two transition areas (Lake Audubon boat ramp and the HS stadium), post race food, run sentry, water stops, score keeper with LM sports, bike marshal and finish line. The ninth annual Embry Rucker Golf Tournament to benefit the programs of Reston Interfaith will be held Monday, July 14 at Hidden Creek and Reston National Golf Course in Reston. The Golf registration fee is $175 which includes greens fees, cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner with silent and live auctions. Non-golfers are welcome to attend dinner and auction. Reston Community Center (RCC) will host a day of fishing on Saturday, July 26, from 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on the 75-foot Judith M off the coast of Ocean City, Md. The group will go ocean bottom fishing for sea bass, lingcod, trout, croakers, tautog and sand sharks. The fee of $40-$50 (Reston residents) includes transportation, rod and reel, bait and tackle, one lunch ticket, and over five hours of fishing. The fees for all others are $65 for persons younger than 12 years of age, and $75 for persons older than 12. The English as a Second Language (ESL) and Immigrant Ministries program has an immediate need for teaching volunteers. The time commitment is two hours, one day/night per week or Saturday mornings, September through December. Teacher training is being offered on either Saturday, Aug. 9 (8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) or Sunday, Aug. 24 (1-5:30 p.m.) and on Sunday, Sept. 7 (1-5:30 p.m.).

Voce, a choral ensemble, is holding auditions for 2003-2004 concert series during the last week of June.
