Sewing Club Seeks New Members

The American Sewing Guild is a national non-profit with a 25-year history, dedicated to home sewers. The Northern Virginia chapter of the Guild is just over one year old, but already boasts 200 members.

The national group made flag quilts to commemorate the Sept. 11 attacks, presenting the quilts to local fire stations all over the country.

The chapter includes 12 neighborhood groups, including the Alexandria group, but is looking for more members. The Alexandria Seamsters, meets the fourth Monday of the month at the Burke Branch Library, 4701 Seminary Road from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the meeting room.

Contact person for the group is Johanna Branley, who can be reached at 703-370-0773 or Johanna@auctioncorral.com.
