Loudoun County has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2002. The CAFR is prepared and published annually by the county's Department of Financial Services.
An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been presented to Eileen Nguyen and Mark Withrow, financial analysts with the Financial Services' Comptroller's Office and the individuals primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR under new standards. Ron Pennington, assistant comptroller with the Financial Services' Comptroller's Office, was recognized for his review and consultation work on the CAFR preparation and Judith Flesher, executive assistant with the Financial Services' Director's Office, for her technical support on the project.
Army Pvt. Jason P. DiDomenico has graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. DiDomenico is the son of Susan and William DiDomenico Ashburn. He is a 2001 graduate of Broad Run High School.
