Navy Seaman Paul L. Friedman, son of Eyre Seicentos and Steve L. Friedman of Springfield, recently returned from a 10-month deployment to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, homeported in Everett, Wash. Friedman is a 1996 graduate of Mast Academy of Miami, Fla. He joined the Navy in June 2002.
Lt. jg Jeffrey Millar received his Naval aviator "Wings of Gold" in a ceremony on Friday, May 2, at NAS Meridian, Miss. Millar, the son of Carol and Randy Millar of Springfield, graduated from West Springfield High School in 1995 and Virginia Tech in 2000. He was selected to fly the FA-18E/F Super Hornet and will be based at NAS Lemoore, Calif. with his wife, Susannah and daughter, Hannah.
