<sh>Public Hearing June Set on Police Facility

<bt>Citizens are invited to comment on the future location of the police station at a public hearing on June 10. The hearing will be part of the City Council's regular meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

At the hearing, the City Council will listen to citizens' comments on whether the police station should be located on the City Hall property at 10455 Armstrong St. or at its current home at the John C. Wood Municipal Complex at 3730 Old Lee Highway.

The current proposed design shows construction of the police station on City Hall property at 10455 Armstrong St.

<sh>Galligan Wins Senate Primary

<bt>Alexandria's Greg Galligan will face Clifton's Jay O'Brien in November's 39th District Senate race. O'Brien is the Republican incumbent, and Galligan became the Democratic candidate last Saturday, in a firehouse primary at the Lee District Government Center.

Galligan garnered more than 80 percent of the votes against fellow Democrat Rick Gonzalez, to rack up a 204-47 victory. Galligan received the bulk of the votes in Fairfax County, while a majority of Prince William County voters chose Gonzalez. In his upcoming campaign, Galligan plans to focus on education, health care and property-tax relief.

<sh>Meier Named Robinson Principal

<bt>Danny Meier, current principal of Rocky Run Middle School in Chantilly, has been tapped as Robinson Secondary School's new principal. He'll leave his post at the end of this school year and will begin his new job on July 1. Meier previously served as varsity football coach at Chantilly High and guidance director at Herndon Middle School.

<sh>5K Run/Walk

<bt>The fourth annual Tim Harmon 5K run/walk takes place Saturday, June 21, at 8:30 a.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center. Registration is $17 by June 6 and $20 afterward. Register on race day from 7-8:15 a.m. or at www.racepacket.com. This certified event has three divisions: runners/walkers, Fairfax County employees and baby joggers. Prizes will be awarded.
