Aaron Mayo, son of Sue and Bud Mayo of Burke, graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C., on May 19 with a bachelor's of arts degree in communications and Spanish.
Phantha Boon is one of more than 250 cadets who received the 2003 George C. Marshall ROTC Award at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va. The award is presented to the most outstanding Army ROTC cadet seniors at each college or university in the nation that host ROTC detachments. After graduating from Norfolk State University, Neb., and completing the ROTC program, Boon will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army. Boon is the son of Penghong and Thorn Boon of Nomes Court in Fairfax. He is a 1997 graduate of Hayfield Secondary School.
