<sh>Centreville Flasher is Sought
<bt>Fairfax County police are on the lookout for a man who exposed himself to two teen-age girls, twice in one day. The incidents occurred last Wednesday evening, July 23, in Centreville. Police say the girls, 13 and 16, were walking in the 5700 block of Cedar Walk, near the Bent Tree Apartments (off Route 29), around 7 p.m., when they noticed a man sitting on the steps of a building. As they got closer, they discovered he was exposing himself.
Later, around 10:40 p.m., the girls were using a computer inside the Bent Tree Apartments' clubhouse, at 13630 Bent Tree Circle, when they saw the same man standing outside of the controlled access door. Shortly afterward, the man came inside the building and again flashed the girls.
The teens left, moments later, and called police. The suspect is described as black, in his mid-30s, 5 feet 8 inches and 150 pounds. He had a neatly trimmed, graying beard and wore a black T-shirt, black shorts with two white stripes on the sides and a black hat.
<sh>Clifton Road Section Closing
<bt>A one-mile section of Clifton Road, from Maple Branch to Wolf Run Shoals Road, closed to through traffic as of Monday, July 28, and will remain that way for 30 days. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) says it's necessary to allow bridge crews to replace the bridge over Swift Run.
Detour signs will direct motorists to use Clifton Road to Wolf Run Shoals Road to Chapel Road to Clifton Road. Although motorists may expect some inconvenience, completely closing the road will enable crews to complete construction in less than half the time it would take if the roadway were to remain partially open during the work. Some 4,900 vehicles a day travel this section of Clifton Road; the safety-improvement project will cost $120,000.

A four-story apartment complex with a plaza and some small retail businesses is being proposed for Fair Oaks. Called Camden Monument Place, it would be at the corner of Monument Drive and Fair Lakes Parkway, near Fair Oaks Mall. But since that area is currently zoned for office use, the developer needs Fairfax County's permission to have it rezoned for multifamily, residential use.
