BEVERLY HILLS PEDIATRICIAN
Scott W. Cohen, M.D., son of Ellen and Allan Cohen of Potomac, was awarded the Victor E. Stork Award for Continued Excellence and Future Promise in the Care of Children by Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles at their annual banquet. Dr. Cohen was also recognized for Outstanding Community Service and Dedication to Child Advocacy for founding Helping Hands for Children, a child advocacy curriculum for pediatric residents. After completing his residency at CHLA, Scott has joined a private practice in Beverly Hills and has medical privileges and is on the teaching staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
COVINGTON, HARMON TO WED
Mr. and Mrs. Barry Covington of Potomac announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Skiff, to Scott Newcomer Harmon, son of Dr. Kathryn Newcomer of Rockville and Mr. Donald Harmon of Beatrice, Neb.
The bride-to-be is a 1994 graduate of Georgetown Visitation High School. She received her bachelor of arts and masters degree in education from Boston College, and teaches in the Montgomery County school system. The future groom is a 1992 graduate of Georgetown Prep High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins University. he recently earned a joint masters degree in business administration and international trade and investment policy from George Washington University. He is an analyst at a software firm in Bethesda.
The couple will be married on July 19th in Potomac.
