Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Domenech created a list of proposed cuts, equal to $19 million and 156.1 positions including several teachers, guidance counselors and custodians, before Gov. Mark Warner (D) pledged not to cut education funding. In light of the governor's pledge, Domenech suggested rescinding the cuts, however, the proposed budget is $31 million over the county Board of Supervisors' transfer guideline.
