Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington has been awarded a $60,000 grant by the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) for preventing immigration-related unfair employment practices. In its grant proposal to OSC, an office under the U.S. Department of Justice, Catholic Charities outlined a plan for informing the immigrant community and local small-business employers about their rights and responsibilities under the anti-discrimination provisions of the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA).

Arlington students ages 12-18 display their favorite photos of Arlington County in the "Natural Arlington" 2003 calendar presented by Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE). The black-and-white photos highlight the students' homes, local streams and parks, as well as the Potomac River. ACE board members and professional photographers selected the photos for the calendar from those that Arlington County Schools photography students submitted for consideration.

All proceeds from the sale of the calendar will benefit ACE programs, which include youth and adult environmental education, stream cleanups and efforts to foster sustainability and improve the environment. To order "Natural Arlington," visit www.arlingtonenvironment.org or call 703-228-6427.
