SATs Rescheduled
<bt>The Dec. 6 administration of the SAT, which was canceled due to inclement weather, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 20. All test takers should report to their assigned testing sites on the same schedule as was provided for the Dec. 6 test. Fairfax County Public Schools testing sites are as follows:

<sh>School Budget Honored
<bt>Fairfax County Public Schools has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the current fiscal year from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. The award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting.
A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was also presented to Deirdra McLaughlin, chief financial officer and assistant superintendent for financial services, and to Andy Hawkins, director of the Office of Budget Services.
Organizations were required to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation and were assessed by how well the budget served as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. Budget documents must be rated proficient in each of the four categories to be eligible for the award.
The GFOA established its Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards program in 1984 — the only national awards program in governmental budgeting — and has presented approximately 900 awards in 19 years. GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving 14,000 government finance professionals in North America.
