On Thursday, November 20, , Northern Virginia Family Service presented its 11th Annual Companies As Responsive Employers (CARE) Awards at a breakfast at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. Former WJLA news anchor Paul Berry announced the award winners, and J. Knox Singleton, president and CEO of Inova Health System, served as keynote speaker. An audience of over 300 business and community leaders gathered to celebrate this year's award winners:
Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, small company winner, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that represents 160,000 educators from across the globe. ASCD addresses all aspects of effective teaching and learning and its members span the entire profession of educators. Among ASCD's favorable employee benefits are flexible work arrangements, adoption assistance, EAP, transportation subsidy, credit union, and savings bonds for the birth or adoption of a child. Employees enjoy wellness programs including subsidized on-site massage therapy and aerobics classes, and free gym access.
