<bt>Marie Knarr, recently of Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Leesburg, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2003. Knarr was born in Stanley, Wisc. and was a graduate of EanClaire State Teachers College. She was an elementary school teacher in Stanley.
In 1938, she moved to Chicago and held several office positions over the years, including the Fred Harvey Company. She retired as office manager of the American Society of Packaging Engineers.
In 1989, she moved to Lake Anne Fellowship House in Reston, where she lived until 2001. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Knar is survived by her nephew James J. Sullivan, of Reston; a great niece and caretaker, Theresa Sullivan Gowan of Great Falls; great nieces Julia Kropp-Sullivan; Susan Sullivan Tubach; and J.S. Sullivan; and great nephews Paul Sullivan, Stephen Sullivan and Mark Sullivan, all of Virginia. Knar also had other nieces and nephews in Texas, Illinois and Wisconsin.
A Mass Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 27. Interment is at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon. Arrangements are being made by Adams-Green Funeral Home.
