Harold Philip Seamon, 76, known to friends and family simply as "Jack," passed away in Ashburn at Loudoun Hospital on Aug. 8, 2003.
Seamon, born on Sept. 16, 1926 in Cooleemee, N. C., was the son of Maude Carolyn Mundy Powlas and the late Thomas William Seamon. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and honorably served in several battles during World War II including the Battle of Normandy.
Seamon made his living in Alexandria, Va. as a custom homebuilder and proprietor of H. P. Seamon Construction.
Beloved husband of the late Gwendolyn Jo Smith, he is survived by his mother; two brothers; two sisters; three daughters, Donna Gillis, Jackie Unthank, and Joyce Radcliffe; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
