<lst>The following incidents were reported by the Herndon Police Department:
<cal1>ASSAULT
<lst>1806 500 block of Florida Ave. On Aug. 6, The complainant advised she was struck by an acquaintance. The subject was gone prior
to police arrival. Warrant procedures were explained.
600 block of Spring St. On Aug. 9, Walter Jackson Simmons II, a 20 year-old male of Herndon, was arrested for striking an acquaintance. He was transported to the Fairfax County ADC and was released on his signature.
600 block of Center St. On Aug. 10, Marcos Mendez, a 34 year-old male of Herndon, was arrested for assaulting an acquaintance. He was transported to the Fairfax County ADC and held on a $2,000 bond.
April Way/Summerfield Drive. On Aug. 9 at 10:52 p.m., two complainants reported being struck by a vehicle. The vehicle and operator were located. The operator advised the two complainants had kicked his vehicle. Case Active.
<cal1>DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY
<lst>08/06/03 0726 1200 block of Elden St. On Aug. 6 at 7:26 a.m., unknown subject(s) wrote graffiti on a wall with a black marker.
600 block of Center St. On Aug. 6, unknown subject(s) wrote graffiti on a wall.
1200 block of Elden St. On Aug. 10, unknown subject(s) broke a passenger window on a parked vehicle.
<cal1>NARCOTICS VIOLATION
<lst>800 block of Station St. On Aug. 8 at 8:22 p.m., unknown subject(s) dropped a small baggie of suspected heroin on the ground. The baggie was found by a citizen, who turned it into the police.
<cal1>OTHER VIOLATIONS
<lst>Dranesville Road/Park Avenue. On Aug. 6 at 2:45 p.m., a white male in an older model Chevrolet Caprice sounded a siren. The complainant pulled his vehicle over and stopped. The white male approached and asked for a cigarette, and then left.
1000 block of Elden St. On Aug. 4 at 11:20 p.m., Jose Elias Portillo, a 22 year-old male of Sterling was found trespassing. He was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County ADC, where he was released on his signature.
<cal1>LARCENY
<lst>1400 block of Bluemont Court. On Aug. 4 at 9:42 a.m., unknown subject(s) took a hammock from the yard of a residence.
1200 block of Magnolia Lane. On Aug. 5 at 10:31 p.m., unknown subject(s) took a purse from an unlocked vehicle.
700 block of Pine St. On Aug. 7 at 11:30 a.m., unknown subject(s) took a CD player and jewelry from a parked vehicle.
1300 block of Springtide Place. On Aug. 8 at 7:06 a.m., unknown subject(s) took change from an unlocked vehicle.
1200 block of Wilshire Lane. On Aug. 8 at 2:20 p.m., a black male took an unsecured mountain bike from a yard. The bike was recovered further down the road.
100 block of Dublin Place. On Aug. 9 at 12:09 a.m., unknown subject(s) took a royal blue, 2003 “SPEED OG”, scooter from a back yard.
1100 block of Autumnhaze Court. On Aug. 9 at 7 a.m., unknown subject(s) took a radio face plate, and some CD’s from a parked vehicle.
