Thomas Edward Brown, Sr. died July 30 at Reston Hospital. Born in Surry County, Va., on July 20, 1932 to Acie Haskett and Courtney Odell Allen Askett, Brown was an insurance broker and owner of Tom Brown & Company, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Howard Brown; two sons, Thomas E. Brown, Jr. of Bowie, Md. and Ronald E. Brown of Chantilly; one daughter, Mona D. Brown of Alexandria, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Judith O. Brown and Kathy V. Brown; one sister, Sister Marian Travis of Hampton, Va.; one brother, Breon Haskett of Newport News, Va.; three sisters-in-law, Eloise Tynes, Janet Brown, Sharon Haskett; four granddaughters, Tiesha D. Higgins, Keaira D. Brown, Ariel E. Brown and Amanda N. Brown; one grandson, Kevin E. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake was held Aug. 3 at Heritage Fellowship United Church of Christ in Reston. Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at Heritage Fellowship. Interment will be Thursday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.
