Jupiter's parents live in the Woodlawn area of Fairfax County. His sister and brother-in-law, graduates of William and Mary, live in Belleview. Jupiter also has a dog, temporarily cared for by his parents.

Background:

Jupiter is a 1996 graduate of Mount Vernon High School (MVHS) and Class of 2000 from the College of William and Mary. While at MVHS, Jupiter was captain of the tennis team and ran cross country. He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 118 at Fort Belvoir. Jupiter volunteered for the Marine Corps after graduation from William and Mary and went through OCS at Quantico that summer. After finishing the Basic School at Quantico, he was selected as a finance officer and assigned to the I MEF at Camp Pendleton.

Where/when deployed:

Jupiter was deployed from San Diego with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Force (MEU) aboard the Assault Troop Ship USS Tarawa, on Jan. 6, 2003, and entered the Persian Gulf in February. He is the disbursing officer for the MEU and is in command of a team of four Marines that is responsible for pay issues, safeguarding funds and contracting support. During the conflict, Jupiter has been ashore in Kuwait and Iraq performing his duties as well as other duties in combat service support.
