South Lakes High School Theatre Arts students will be canvassing throughout Reston on Saturday, April 5 to promote their upcoming musical, "Singin' in the Rain", to be performed May 1-3 and May 8-10, and to raise funds for their participation in the ACT (Art, Culture, Theatre) Festival in Beijing China, which will take place in July 2004.
South Lakes High School Theatre Arts Department was selected by the Ivy Discovery Institute to represent Virginia as part of this theater festival. South Lakes students will bring the classic American musical "Singin' In The Rain" to the Chinese audience.
During the two-week trip, students will participate in cross-cultural activities including theater performances and workshops, and will travel throughout China and Hong Kong.
If residents miss seeing one of the Theatre Arts Department students on April 5, they are welcome to a send a donation to the address below to support them, the local theater experience and their upcoming trip to China.
