Family:

William Schorr's father, William Schorr Sr., is a retired Coast Guard commander; his mother, Linda Schorr, has been a second-grade teacher at Mount Eagle Elementary School for many years. William also has an older sister, Michelle, who recently graduated from Stanford Business School.

Background:

As a child, William spent time in both New York and the Mount Vernon area. He attended Mount Vernon High School, where he played football and soccer. He enrolled at James Madison University and then joined the reserves. On graduation, he was eligible for Officers Candidate School (OCS) and was commissioned.

Where/when deployed:

Has been deployed since February, believed to be somewhere north of Nasiriyah.

Neighborhood:

Pinewood Lakes.

Specialty:

General Marine officer.
