On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church held a prayer vigil to remember the victims of Sept. 11, 2001. Solemnly, every member of the congregation in attendance passed the flame, lighting all the candles. All stood quietly for the reading of the names of family and friends who died in last year’s attacks.
Then a procession led to the placing of the lighted candles in a container, creating a larger light.
The service included prayers, ritual songs and a homily by Monsignor John Enzler.
