<bt>Things began to return to normal at Woodson last week, as outdoor activities resumed and athletic competitions were held as scheduled.
Further information about homecoming has been released. Homecoming is currently scheduled for the week of Nov. 18, with tickets for the dance being available Nov. 11. Tickets for the original homecoming date will still be honored.
Woodson's football team won an exciting quadruple overtime victory against South Lakes on Oct. 19. Quarterback Mike Solomon passed for two touchdowns, while Joe Martin and Sean Ragan made a number of important plays, including a blocked extra point. The defense held South Lakes to 34 points, while the offense mustered a commanding 40-point final score to advance to a record of 4-2. The Cavs are undefeated within the district, accelerating past the Seahawks to take an uncontested first place standing.
The field hockey team also remained undefeated in the district, beating Fairfax in a tough 1-0 game on Sunday. The team advanced to a 15-1-1 record, and is ranked one of the
best teams in the Washington D.C.-metropolitan area.
The Cavalier cheerleaders were successful in the District Competition held at Fairfax High School last week, placing third out of seven teams and advancing to the Regional
competition. The regional semifinals will be at Robinson Secondary School on Monday, Nov. 4.
The Woodson Pyramid will have a town hall meeting with School Board members on Nov. 6 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., in the Woodson cafeteria. The meeting will be open to all Woodson Pyramid parents, who will be free to discuss any issues of concern with their elected officials.
