Alexandria voters will be going to the polls Tuesday. Tom Parkins, Alexandria’s voter registrar, said, “We have two new polling places this year. Those who voted at George Washington Middle School will now vote at Immanuel Lutheran because of construction at the school and those who voted at United Way of America will now vote at the Ladrey high-rise.”
Also, the Electoral Board will try a new electronic voting machine at the Lee Center. The machine, known as Eslate, is an electronic system but is not touch screen, and it is accessible to those with visual impairments.
“The board has not yet decided on this machine,” Parkins said. “We just want to try it and see how it works and then decide.”
Polls open in Alexandria at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
