The following incidents were reported by the Herndon Police Department:
ROBBERY
Food Lion, 1070 Elden St. On Oct. 17 at 5:39 p.m., two suspects assaulted a 55-year-old male employee and brandished a knife toward a 32-year-old male employee before fleeing the business with merchandise. The first employee was transported to Columbia Reston Hospital where he was treated for a facial injury and released. The suspects were located a short time later and were apprehended after a foot pursuit off of Herndon Parkway. Ronald Denney, a 43-year-old man of Arlington, and Steven Davis, a 37-year-old man of Manassas, were charged with robbery. They were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on no bond.
LARCENY
1200 block of Elden St. On Oct. 15 at 10:46 a.m., Carol Synder, a 62-year-old woman of Herndon, was charged with shoplifting. She was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention center and held pending $6,000 bond.
1300 Block Mistyvale St. On Oct. 17 at 12:11 p.m., a window was shattered on a vehicle and stereo equipment, compact discs, and a wallet were removed.
700 Block Van Buren St. On Oct. 20 at 12:56 p.m., an unidentified man pumped gas and drove off without paying.
ASSAULT
1400 Block Rainbow Court. On Oct. 18 at 4:09 p.m., a 34-year-old woman reported to police that she had been assaulted by an acquaintance. The victim received a minor injury. David Ellison, a 35-year-old man of Falls Church, was arrested for assault. During the arrest, Ellison also assaulted a police officer. The officer was not injured. Ellison was charged with assault and with assault on a police officer. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held pending $6,000 bond.
1000 Block Jeff Ryan Drive. On Oct. 20 at 3:14 a.m., a 21-year-old woman reported to police that she had been assaulted by an acquaintance. The victim received a minor injury. Kenneth Barden, a 21-year-old man of Herndon, was arrested for assault. During the arrest, Barden also assaulted a police officer. The officer was not injured. Barden was charged with assault and with assault on a police officer. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention center and held pending $3,000 bond.
AUTO TAMPERING
600 Block Dulles Park Court. On Oct. 14 at 8:53 p.m., nine vehicles had a tire punctured.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY
300 Block Elden St. On Oct. 20 at 4:43 a.m., a glass window on a business was broken.
INDECENT EXPOSURE
800 Block Ferndale Ave. On Oct. 18 at 7:41 p.m., an unidentified man exposed himself to three juvenile females ages 10, 11, and 12.
DWI ARREST
700 Block Elden St. On Oct. 14 at 2:07 a.m., Jason Becker, a 24-year-old man of Herndon.
