Provident Bank will open its 101st branch in Burke on Oct. 11. The Burke Branch is located at 5815 Burke Center Parkway. The hours of operation for both the lobby and drive-thru are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Companion Assisted Care, Inc. has named Karen M. Combs its executive director/administrator. Combs of Burke is a certified assisted living administrator and has been in the geriatrics and health-care field since 1990. She has been with Companion Assisted Care since 2000.
Out of approximately 60 consignment stores in the Northern Virginia area, Consigning Women Apparel of Springfield was the only member shop represented at the National Association of Resale & Thrift Shops' regional meeting. The meeting took place Sept. 29-30 at the Sheraton Four Points in Bethesda, Md. Consigning Women Apparel has been a member of N.A.R.T.S. since 1993.
