On Sunday, Sept. 21, some of T.C. Williams’ former football greats came back to their old home turf. The Celebrity Flag Football Game brought back past Titans from the original 1971 team, and the 1984 state champions, along with Mayor Kerry Donley, city Councilman William Euille, and WJLA sports director Rich Daniel, to raise money for the T.C. Williams Cheerleader Booster Club, in support of the school’s cheerleaders.
Whereas they once ran the length of the field every Friday night, the players limited themselves to a 20-yard game, playing the entire game in the red zone. When the time came to switch ends, they begged off – all that running had tired them out.
