State University. She is a graduate of West Springfield High School and the daughter of Richard and Nancy Lear of Bumpass, Va. She is the granddaughter of Geraldine Oden.
Hajjar Hossam Ahmed was recently inducted into the Alpha Beta Rho Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Northern Virginia Community College. Ahmed, majoring in international relations, is the daughter of Hossam Ahmed and Bothayna Saleh of Fairfax.
Andrew Thomas Perroy, son of Jim and Gaye Mazzei of Burke, was recently inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society, at James Madison University. Perroy is due to graduate in 2003 with a bachelor of business administration degree in management.
Sara Kane, daughter of Richard and Susan Kane of Fairfax, has been selected to receive the Emil R. Schnellock Scholarship in art history at Mary Washington College. Kane is a senior majoring in art history and elementary education. She was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is a member of the Art Club.
Colleen Fogarty, daughter of Francis and Anita Fogarty of Burke, is a member of the student organization OPEN (Options Providing Enjoyable Nights) at Lynchburg College. The purpose of OPEN is to provide an environment that encourages students to make low-risk choices concerning alcohol through programming, activities and communication. Fogarty is a graduate of Paul VI High School and a freshman communication studies major at Lynchburg College.
