The St. Francis kindergarten classes raised over $950 on their mini-walk for the homeless on Nov. 7. The 38 kindergarten students and teachers walked over 20 miles — three-quarters of a mile each — around the field and school. The money will be donated to Community Ministries of Rockville for food, medicine and shelter for people who are homeless in Montgomery County. The walk is part of the 5K Help the Homeless Walk-a-thon, which will be held on Nov. 23 on the National Mall.
