The Father William Corby Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and The Fairfax County Park Authority hosted a Memorial Day tribute on Monday at the Ox Hill Battlefield Park in Fairfax. The ceremony at West Ox Road and Monument Drive took place in front of two gravestones placed on the battle site from the Civil War. More than 2,000 soldiers from both the Confederate and Union armies died in that battle. U.S. Army Col. (ret.) Elmer May acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the event which featured a wreath laying on the tombstones by U.S. Army Lt. Col. (ret.) John McAnaw, an historical tribute by Charles V. Mauro and musical renditions by a female choir accompanied by Mark Hillman on the pipes. Presentation of Colors were performed by the 17th Vol. Inf. CSA and the 28th Mass. Vol. Inf. U.S.
