Children ages 6-12 are invited to attend free beginner swimming classes this summer at the Vantage Hill Pool. The eight class sessions, which are taught by the aquatics staff of the Reston Community Center, are for Beginner I and II students. Each RCC instructor has been trained and certified by the American Red Cross and has received ratings in Water Safety Instruction.

For information on class days and times, contact the RCC Aquatics Department at 703-476-4500. There is no charge for the Beginner level classes but registration is required. Classes are also available for Advanced level swimmers. Advanced level classes are not free, so contact the RCC Aquatics Department for class fee information. Registration starts May 18 and can be done in person or by faxing a completed RCC Registration form to 703-476-8617.

The MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support), a nonprofit support group for at-home mothers, has started a new chapter in Reston to offer support and activities for stay-at-home mothers and their children of Reston. The monthly meeting and play group is scheduled for Friday, June 7 from 10:30-12 p.m. for mothers to bring their children and learn more about the organization. The NOVA Career Development Network invites those seeking jobs or career transitions to participate in a weekly networking and job support group. Reston/Herndon residents are invited to participate in Community Yoga Classes. Reston classes are scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 6 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Brown's Chapel. Herndon classes are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 5 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Friends Meeting House. Cost is $18 for the introductory class. Additional weekly classes at these locations will follow as part of this new six week session. A portion of the proceeds received will be donated to Reston Interfaith to help others in the community. Reservations are advised due to limited space.

OGA-YAY is offering a series of six yoga classes on Sundays for children and parents. Classes begin on June 9 at Brown's Chapel in Reston. 2 p.m.: Children's yoga (4 to 6 years old) $52. 3 p.m.: Parent and child yoga (3 1/2 to 5 years old) $76. Call 703-476-2827 to reserve space.
