The National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF), in commemoration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, recognizes the efforts of Lillie Brown of West Springfield High School for encouraging students to pursue their career interests. Brown shows commitment to enhancing the educational experience by nominating McLean High School students to explore NYLF programs in law, medicine and/or defense, intelligence, and diplomacy. Students are nominated to participate in NYLF programs based on demonstrated academic achievement an interest in one of NYLF’s three core fields of study. The young scholars from around the country who attend NYLF are introduced to industry leaders and participate in rigorous reality-based simulations that challenge their problems-solving skills and encourage them to take a leadership role in whichever career path they choose. For more information on NYLF programs, visit www.nylf.org.
