<sh>Attempted Sexual Assault
<bt>Fairfax County police are looking for a man who burglarized a Little Rocky Run home and tried to sexually assault a 19-year-old female resident there. The incident occurred last Thursday, May 9, around 12:30 p.m. in the 13800 block of Laurel Rock Court in Clifton.
Police say the woman had just come home and was standing in her kitchen when a man entered the unlocked front door of her house and confronted her. He then punched her, grabbed her and dragged her to another room where he attempted to assault her sexually. However, for some unknown reason, police say he suddenly stopped the attack and fled.
The victim then called police. She suffered minor injuries and was treated at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The suspect is described as white, in his 20s and 6 feet 4 inches to 6 feet 5 inches. He had short brown hair and wore a multicolor shirt. Anyone with information about him or this incident is asked to call police at 703-691-2131.

He's described as white, 25, 6 feet and 185 pounds. He had blond hair and wore a green polo shirt and khaki pants. Anyone with information about him or this incident is asked to call police at 703-691-2131.
<sh>Chantilly Student Sentenced
<bt>A Chantilly High student was found guilty of assault, Monday, and sentenced to perform community service. He is Michael C. Gill, 18, of 3819 Beech Down Drive in Chantilly's Armfield Farms community.
Fairfax County police arrested him March 11 after a fight on school grounds. According to police, school resource officer James Berling investigated a report of a fight in progress in front of the school cafeteria, around 9:30 a.m., and saw Gill assaulting another student.
Police said Gill refused to stop upon command and pepper spray had to be used to aid in his arrest. County Fire and Rescue personnel treated Gill for a swollen right hand and the victim for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged Gill with simple assault and took him to the Adult Detention Center. He appeared Monday in General District Court, where Judge Mark Simmons found him guilty as charged. He sentenced Gill to 60 days in jail, suspending all that time and placing Gill on one year probation. He also ordered him to perform 25 hours of community service.

<cl>Shea Megale
<sh>Walk for Shea is Huge Success
<bt>The Fifth Annual Walk for Shea Megale on April 28 was a huge success, despite the dreary weather. Of the 526 people registered, more than half actually participated. Proceeds benefit research for spinal muscular atrophy — a rare and terminal form of muscular dystrophy. So far this year, almost $11,000 has been raised.
Shea Megale, the 6 1/2-year-old Centreville girl stricken with the disease, led walkers in her wheelchair. It rained before and after the walk, but subsided during the event. Many Westfield High students showed their support by walking, and local vendors such as Bagel Buddies and Chesapeake Bagel Bakery, donated food.
First Horizon Home Mortgage Co. was the leading contributor, raising nearly $2,000 for the cause. Next year's Walk for Shea will be April 27, 2003, so mark your calendars. Contact Mo Nieves at kellex@aol.com.
