Air Force Cadet David C. Zesinger received recognition as a freshman fourth class cadet by all the sophomore through senior cadets in his class for completing training efforts at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The fourth class cadets undergo rigorous training tests of physical fitness, strength, ability, and mental endurance. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Zesinger of Burke is a 2001 graduate of Lake Braddock High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Jonathan B. Faff, son of Jane and Frank Faff of Fairfax, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Donovan P. Libby, son of Mary K. and Dana S. Libby of Fairfax, recently graduated from the Navy's Basic Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, S.C.

With his newly acquired knowledge, Libby is prepared to operate a reactor on a nuclear powered submarine or aircraft carrier, ensuring the availability of propulsion and power.

He was recently promoted to his current rank and is a 2000 graduate of Word of Life Christian Academy of Springfield.

Steven A. Raveia has received an Army ROTC scholarship for three years at the Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, pursuing a degree in history. He is the son of Daniel B. and Catherine Raveia of Fairfax and is a 2000 graduate of W.T. Woodson High School.

Marine Corps Pfc. Jae H. Park, son of Hyunho Kim of Fairfax, recently completed basic training at Public Affairs Parris Island, Parris Island, S.C., and was promoted to his current rank. He is a 2000 graduate of Paul VI Catholic High School of Fairfax.

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. John E. Dumsick, son of Connie E. Mako of Fairfax Station, and William D. Dumsick of Clifton, recently reported for duty with 7th Communication Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, Okinawa, Japan. He is a 1994 graduate of W.T. Woodson High School of Fairfax and is a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. degree.

Navy Airman Brian S. Ward, son of Sharon and Daniel T. Ward of Fairfax, is halfway through a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt, home ported in Norfolk. He is a 1998 graduate of James W. Robinson Secondary School and joined the Navy in March 2000.

Marine Corps Pvt. Alberto Reategui, son of Lita and Alberto Reategui of Burke, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is a 2001 graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary School.

Erik C. Nordstrom has graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga., and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Nordstrom, a field artillery officer, is the son of Louis W. Nordstrom of Burke and Margaret S. Nordstrom of Texas.

Marine Corps Pfc. Wade J. Spann, son of Jean C. and Link H. Spann of Burke, recently completed training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is a 2001 graduate of Lake Braddock Secondary School.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher D. Kasulaitis, son of Mary W. and Jerome M. Kasulaitis of Fairfax, recently graduated from the Navy's Basic Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, S.C. He is a 2000 graduate of Paul VI Catholic High School and joined the Navy in November 2000.
