<bt>Veronica C. Bruchalski, a 73-year-old Oak Hill homemaker, died on April 29 of a stroke at her home on Leefield Drive. She received home-hospice care from Hospice of Northern Virginia since September 2001.
Bruchalski was born on July 12, 1928 in Suffern, N.Y. One of nine children born to John and Mary Janisheski, Bruchalski attended Catholic elementary school in Mahwah, N.J. and in 1946 graduated from Ramsey High School in Ramsey, N.J. She worked for Shaefer Brewing company in Suffern, N.Y. as a secretary and for several years for her father at Janek's Meat Market in Mahwah.
In 1959, Bruchalski married Thaddeus "Ted" Bruchalski of Baltimore, Md., who came to Ramsey in 1957 to teach Latin and American Government at Don Bosco Prep, where he taught for 34 years.
Bruchalski was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Mahwah, where she was a member of the choir and the Rosary Society.
Bruchalski was the mother of three sons: Dr. John T. Bruchalski of Oak Hill, Paul Bruchalski of Mahwah, and Thomas Bruchalski of Waldwick, N.J. She was the grandmother of five: John Paul and Joseph Bruchalski of Oak Hill; Jenna and Matthew Bruchalski of Mahwah; and Black Bruchalski of Waldwick and a sixth grandchild is due July 4.
A resident of 3015 Leefield Drive in Oak Hill since August 1991, Bruchalski was a member of the Church of St. Joseph in Herndon.
A viewing took place at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon on Tuesday, April 30. A Mass of the Resurrection to place at The Church of St. Joseph on Wednesday, May 1. Burial was at Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairfax.
